Why I use the title ‘Certified Clinical Nutrition Practitioner’

​

In Alberta, the term “Nutritionist” is a protected title reserved for regulated health professionals. To stay compliant and transparent, I use the title 'Certified Clinical Nutrition Practitioner,' which reflects my qualifications and training in nutrition science. It stands to reason that I take a science-based, personalised approach to health, focusing on how diet, lifestyle, and digestion impact overall well-being. I am a trained professional who evaluates dietary habits, health status, and lifestyle factors to develop tailored nutrition plans. My role involves identifying nutritional imbalances, educating clients on healthy eating practices, and implementing strategies to support optimal physiological function.

This is a Level 7 qualification (UK), equivalent to postgraduate-level training. It reflects an advanced level of knowledge and practical skill, comparable in academic level to a Master’s degree, but focused on specialised professional development rather than academic research.

It ensures I’ve received in-depth training in clinical nutrition, health assessment, and evidence-based practice. This specialist field is grounded in nutritional science and requires a solid understanding of biochemistry, physiology, and nutrient-based interventions.

 

My goal is to educate and empower clients, monitoring progress, and collaborating with healthcare professionals when needed, helps individuals achieve long-term vitality and balance from the inside out.
